The use of cell phone tax returns/payment functions is further refined; electronic tax filing is easier than ever!

With tax filing season coming in May, the National Taxation Bureau of Kaohsiung, Ministry of Finance stated that this year's cell phone tax filing function has been further improved by adding two functions: "cash tax payment" and "application for tax extension or installment payment”. For taxpayers who have difficulties in paying tax, they can also apply online for tax extension or installment payment through the link on the Ministry of Finance’s tax portal, which is fast and convenient.

The Bureau further explains that if a taxpayer uses a cell phone to file a tax return, a new cash payment function has been added. If the amount of tax payable exceeds NT$30,000, the taxpayer can download and print a payment form, and then proceed to a tax collection financial institution for payment; if the amount of tax payable is less than $30,000, the taxpayer can pay the tax by downloading the printed tax payment form, or go to a convenient store with the "payment slip number" generated by the cell phone tax filing system and use the KIOSK to print out the payment slip (small white slip) and pay it at the convenience store counter within the effective time of payment.

The Bureau would like to remind taxpayers that if they cannot pay the tax payable in full within the payment period, the cell phone tax filing system also provides the function of applying for a tax extension or payment by installment. Taxpayers can complete the application electronically by clicking on the link to the Ministry of Finance's tax portal, filling out the application form, and uploading relevant supporting documents after the filing is completed.
